Mohammed Zaidi is an experienced and forward – thinking leader with a background in both engineering and Higher education. Starting his career as a Mechanical Engineer at BAE Systems, he worked on major defence projects like the control system for the JSF – 35 fighter jet and the heads-up display for the Eurofighter Typhoon.

He then moved into the oil and gas sector, taking on senior engineering roles with global companies such as McDermott International, Saipem, Subsea 7, and 2H Offshore. His work took him around the world – from the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico to Malaysia and Angola. One of his most notable projects was supporting BP during the Deepwater Horizon crisis, where he helped design a system to stop the oil spill – work that earned him local recognition.

In 2015, Mohammed transitioned into Higher education, joining the LSST as Deputy CEO. Over nearly seven years, he helped grow the institution and  expanded its campuses, improved academic standards, and successfully led the organisation through several regulatory audits and reviews, including the OfS, QAA, and PwC.

In 2021, he became the CEO of the Fairfield School of Business (FSB). Since then, his focus has been on improving the student experience, ensuring academic excellence, and preparing the organisation for future growth. He believes strongly in the importance of quality education and is committed to making FSB a leading provider of higher education in the UK.

Mohammed brings a rare mix of technical expertise and strategic leadership to everything he does. Especially in education, his approach is always rooted in integrity, high standards, and a clear focus on outcomes and quality .
