For students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (“OfS”). The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England and all higher education providers need to register with the OfS for their students to be eligible for student support in the 2019-20 academic year. The OfS have advised that they will start publishing providers on its Register from July 2018.

Our college has already made the required application and OfS have informed us that our application is in process and that a decision shall be made when the process is complete.

No provider will be able to conclusively confirm whether student support is available until it has a decision from the OfS. Please Visit www.officeforstudents.org.uk for more information.

Nevertheless, as part of our OfS application, we are also required to have in place a Student Protection Plan, with different scenarios and actions setting out what measures we have in place to protect you, as a student at FSB, should a risk to the continuation of your studies arise and details how we would communicate with you about this.
