FSB is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Mohammed Zaidi to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with immediate effect.

Taking over from Mr Syed Zaidi, who is stepping down as CEO after nine years in the role, Mr Mohammed Zaidi becomes the 2nd CEO to hold the prominent position in FSB’s history since it opened to teaching in October 2012.

Mr Mohammed Zaidi was promoted from his earlier role as a distinguished Deputy CEO, a position he held since 2012.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Mohammed Zaidi said: ‘I am extremely honoured to take up this role. I will strive to develop our strengths as a leading provider of Higher Education, renowned for both our positive civic impact on the communities we serve and for our dedication to impactful student experiences.

‘I also aim to further build our partnerships with Bath Spa University and De Montfort University and to improve the civic and social benefit that FSB offers as community of learning.’

Mr Mohammed Zaidi added he was ‘wholly aware’ of the pandemic pressures on students and staff and of the resultant need for support and suppleness in working towards safer times. ‘I am particularly proud of our students and staff that melded together through the unprecedented COVID crisis. Together they worked as the stewards that kept FSB on track and safe. Furthermore, as we take FSB towards its 10th anniversary later this year, I take a great deal of pride and pleasure in our accomplishments in widening student access and participation.’

Contributing to society through the pursuit of education and learning, Mr Mohammed Zaidi is an exceptionally experienced strategic leader with a successful track record in key leadership roles within large Higher Education providers, in addition to having prior successful business experience in the private sector.

Dr John Pomeroy, FSB’s Principal, welcoming the news, said: ‘I would like to thank Mr Syed Zaidi, the founder of FSB, who led the company from inception into becoming a leading provider of higher education in Croydon (London) and Digbeth (Birmingham). His commitment and determination made FSB what it is today. That said, I look very much forward to working with Mr Mohammed Zaidi as CEO as he has always been a familiar voice of guidance at FSB.’
