About the Student Union
WHO WE ARE
The FSB Student Union is elected to represent all students and aids in ensuring that your time at FSB is fulfilling and unforgettable. All FSB students automatically become members of the Student Union (SU) when enrolled for their course of study. The SU is presently run by a full-time Student Coordinator and (an elected) SU President in conjunction with elected Student Representatives. Together we provide support, coordinate opportunities and campaign for the best interest of all FSB Students. We are confident in our outlook and direct in addressing concerns with Senior Management.
VOICE
The FSB Student Union is a student-led organisation. As elected representatives of the student body, we aim to ensure your views and concerns are heard by School Management. This is achieved by:
Actively engaging, where ever possible, in key areas of the School’s Governance process. Presently, the SU President or delegate Student Representative sits on the following committees:
· Executive Committee
· Publications Committee
· Quality Committee
· Learning and Teaching Forum by invitation
· Course Committee
· Operations Committee
· Management Board by invitation
· Academic Board
· Programme Development Review Group
Obtaining student opinion on issues that impact student life is important to us and maintaining the process of democracy and transparency helps ensure the continuation of a structure of partnership between the Student Union and School Management.
We are committed to ensuring students are presented with every opportunity to develop themselves and make a difference in the world of work.

The Student Charters
The Student Charter forms an agreement between Fairfield School of Business and the FSB Students Union (SU), setting out what students can reasonably expect from the School when they accept an offer to study, as well as the standards of conduct expected of them in return. You can read our Student Charter in full here: Student Charter
The Student Union Representatives
The President of the Union, as well as Representatives (all elected by students), work together to protect the rights of students’ at the School. Providing a voice to the student population, the Union will present all feedback to the Senior Management Team to ensure your time at FSB is inspiring, fulfilling, safe and productive. As well as making sure your voice is heard, the Students’ Union host several social events throughout the academic year to encourage positive student relations. They also organize speakers and workshops giving careers advice.
The FSB approach particularly appeals to older students who prefer the more rigorous and professional atmosphere of an Adult College. So, whilst school leavers and college graduates are very welcome, they are advised to seriously consider if they feel at home in the more mature, self-disciplined environment expected at FSB.
